Our Story

A Global Movement,
Born in India

SALSI is a first-of-its-kind interdisciplinary international meeting in India that focuses on the immense potential of saliva as a disease diagnostic tool, saliva therapeutics, and saliva biomarker research from a global perspective.

It shows newer pathways in applications of molecular genetics and genomic technologies in daily diagnosis and research, brings live demonstrations of the latest saliva collection tools, point-of-care devices, and saliva therapeutics. SALSI also opens newer career opportunities and pathways to bioentrepreneurship.

The Saliva Summit in India was pioneered in 2019 by Dr Gargi Roy Goswami, Founder and Director, Indian Academy of Clinical and Dental Genetics (an initiative of KROYNAS Pvt. Ltd.) in collaboration with Oasis Diagnostics, USA.

Global Presence

On the World Stage

SALSI has made its mark in the global list of saliva symposia happening across the world, alongside the North American Saliva Symposium (USA), STAR (Australia), and conferences in Brazil and China. SALSI 2019 was the first, held in Chennai, India.

SALSI inaugurated in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. India's first international saliva summit.
2020
Second summit held at NIAS, Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Campus, Bengaluru, Karnataka.
2021
The first virtual saliva meet on the global calendar, adapting to the pandemic with full digital delivery.
2022
Second virtual summit. Supported by ThermoFisher Scientific, India and JBR Healthcare, Denmark.
2023
5th edition themed "Health & Wellness For All: Saliva Diagnostics, DNA Genomics, Human Microbiome."
2026
6th edition returns to Bengaluru, in-person. 5 – 6 December. The largest SALSI yet.
